Hypermedia

Wiki states that hypermedia is used as a logical extension of the term hypertext in which graphics, audio, video, plain text and hyperlinks intertwine to create a generally non-linear medium of information.

Hypermedia makes it easier to process and organize the world's information. In a matter of seconds, images, text, music, and video are available by request. Weinberg wrote, "We have been forced to move from atoms to bits." Which it true, imagine now how much room space we are save by omitting shelves of books and placing all information at our figure tips.

But, for every positive idea, there is a negative one. Hypermedia makes things too easy. Currently, we have information overload on the web. Everyone and their mama can post information to the web that is true or false. This overload affect the quality of information by degrading it. Also accessing other peoples personal information is another easy function. With a simple Google search, one can find anyone's home phone number, home address, work location, direct work number, salary, email addresses, married name or maiden, relatives, or personal photos. This opens up a perfect opportunity for web crimes and identity fraud.
