The Shannon-Weaver Model

Wikipedia states that the Shannon–Weaver model of communication has been called the "mother of all models."[1] It embodies the concepts of information source, message, transmitter, signal, channel, noise, receiver, information destination, probability of error, coding, decoding, information rate, channel capacity, etc.

Above on the left, is the illustration of the famous model. Originally intended to illustrate the concepts of signal and noise, the two accidentally developed the model for communications. This model cann apply to communication today. Per the illustration, there are six parts to the model: information source, transmitter, signal, receiver, noise source and destination. I can see how this method works internet emailing. The information source (the person writing), transmitter(sending the email), signal(the different emailing severs talking to one other), receiver (the email reaching the other person's email account), noise source(not sure if this applies now for this example) and destination (the other person is reading the email sent).
